My Definition of the Microsoft Application Block Concept

OK so here is my definition of the Blocks created by the Patterns and Practices group at Microsoft. "An Application Block is a .NET Framework extension that allows you to easily perform some action quickly. The Application Blocks implement a pattern through established code and examples to quickly build applications that behave exactly as to the behavior of the Block's pattern. The Block also provides a .NET class library and has been designed to encapsulate Microsoft's recommended best practices." Disclaimer -- This is my view and may not be the same as the Patterns and Practices group. I would suggest that if you are interested in the Blocks to research about them and learn. They contain a wealth of knowledge for developers and architects.
